False Mentor only affects Reputation just earned -- if used to 'steal'
Reputation when another player scores an Objective, it has to be done
during the end of the shadowrun phase.
The "just" wording can be played very tightly (if either player plays
another card or activates an ability, the Reputation is no longer 'just
scored', so the Mentor couldn't be used) or rather loosely (so long as
it happens within a decided period, usually the same phase, of the card
being played, it's allowable). The same rule applies to Luck of the
Irish, Lucky Wabbit's Foot, and so on.
Y'know, though, you could consider the effects of Bad Reputation,
Cowards, and Innocent Bystander a 'gain' of negative Reputation, so you
could absorb the blow in multi-player. Why, I don't know....
- Matt (who secretly feels players should lose the game if the get
negative Reputation equal to the positive amount needed to win the
game....)
