Seems my comments have caused a bit of a stir, which is good. The list
seemed a bit stagnant lately and a bit of 'cranking-up' was needed.
Reactions for the most part were what I expected with a general
'what's-up-with-this-guy' feeling thrown in. And what I found ironic about
the whole so far was the subject matter I used to create this whole fiasco
was the third message as a continuation from this list with the first two
about my rant. That is, no more auctions, my rant about the
ineffectiveness of just saying "Don't post stuff like that.", two posts
against my rant, then another auction post.

Onward with my comments where needed.

Adam J -
"Well *excuse* me..." - you're excused.

Your points about the leaders and whatnot having lives outside the list is
taken, but do not assume that the rest of us are idling by patiently for
the next message to appear from the list server to ponder over. Some of us
have less time while others have more time. My whole point that caused my
rant was as little time as _I_ have, I noticed that just saying "don't post
this and that", "read the faq", etc. ad nauseum is basically ineffective at
this point. Auction and trade message replies still get sent via the list.
I am not insinuating having people thrown off the list for minor
infractions such as this, but if you have the means to be effective, do
something more than just keep repeating yourself.

"I believe Matt is spending very little time online lately." - ummm, maybe
I am getting ghost messages, but it seems Matt has been very active as of
late on the list, especially with his Amerindian set in the works. Unless
there is another Matt that is a cop per se on the list...

About my rant of subdivided replies - _I_ have noticed that when certain
people post messages, certain others are almost always bound to respond.
Other people post and they may or may not get a reply. Then there are some
poor individuals that they could post world shattering comments and/or
ideas, and they fall to the wayside. It does not matter what the subject
matter is for some people, a 'hero-worshipping' feeling seems to be
present. This is my opinion, but others have said the same, either
privately to me, or posted to the list, with various results.

And my signature was something I 'stole' from one of the Shadowrun source
books - again I forgot the book's name and the character represented, but
after each of his points, he said something to the affect of 'Public Enemy
#5, and falling...'. I like to post in-character for me. I have answered
as my card I created as myself - the troll street samurai, to being the
most hated individual. Variety is the spice of life.

Adding a bit of testimony to my signature, I posted three card ideas the
last few days. I have received more messages about my ranting here than I
did with the ideas. I caused a stir and people reacted. Your tone does
not instill the most positive of responses to me, but I don't mind. And
someone has to be the least-liked around here.

Noah - "Postal" is one hell of a computer game *grin*. At times I can
~relate~ to it... I'm glad you accept what I say, as off-topic and against
the grain it can be around here, struggling to get a notice in the waves of
new posts. Sometimes one has to go extreme to get something across a.k.a
postal.

Neil - "...there was a time when list members would remind their list
colleagues about the rules, and no angst was caused, and I'm sure it was
appreciated by the authorities." - I remember those days myself, being an
older list member. But in time, the rules as you call them were getting
broken more often than not, and I believe Loki at the time was posting to
the list about the infractions. I made another rant then that spamming the
list with posts about not posting this was in a weird way, doing the exact
same thing the original poster did. So I believe he took the whole affair
to private e-mail and the misposts dropped immensely. Again, I see the
same original answer to the same problem being used - "don't post this and
that...", and as before, it was not working. So I took the same route as I
did then and we shall see what happens this time.

"Izz got da rep ta upkeeep ya know..."

Loki - "How to win friends and influence people..." - is this a book or
something? *snicker*

>This place needs another fraggin' Torgo debate at this point.....
>>>>>>Axlrose - list member's least-like individual, and still
dropping...<<<<<

"Still don't understand what you feel you've done or where you got the idea
you were so disliked..." - actually, and not being biased here, first off -
see my reply above about being in-character. Second, two of the most
elongated posts I remember from the list were "If you were a Shadowrun
card, what would it say?" and the Great Lord Torgo - the Gang Leader but
not Leader of the Pack debate. One I created and the other I was heavily
involved in. I am trying to get some action going on the list again. With
apparently the 180-200 members here, at most a good 20 or so post anything,
and that seems segregated, at this point I will go the least-liked route to
get some movement from the lurkers. And at the same time, it might crack
down on some of the minor infractions that occur. And it might just knock
some individuals off their high horses too *grin*.

Too bad you probably are under agreement not to murmur a word, but I
wouldn't mind hearing some info about Corp Wars and SR Edition 3.

Long enough post, but I said what I wanted to say (for now...)
