One of the first things to consider should be the challenges you are using.
The following cards are the challenges I consider "run-stoppers":

Chomps-2000 Guard Dog
Corpselight
Gut Check!
Hellish Traffic
Maglocks
Mine Field
Motion Detectors
Nets
Poison Gas Trap
Pressure Plates
Scatterbrain Raid
Widow's Trap

All of these cards, with the exception of Mine Field, either stop the run
cold or generally send enough runners home to make your opponent pull out
of the run. I included Mine Field because it has the potential to do 6AP
to all the runners, giving the opponent something serious to think about
before continuing on the run.
