A player here claims that "just played" was the same as "last played".
Thereby he claims he can counter a card already in play with a card that
cancels the effect of a "just played" card. This goes to the extent that
in his opinion, he could play False Mentor to earn Reputation from an
Objective that has been taken turns before. I know he is wrong, but he
will only be convinced by official rulings. Do any of You have explicit
official word on this?

The card says "You receive Reputation JUST EARNED by target player.". In
my book, that means you play that card ONLY on the turn when the TP
successfully take the Objective.

This card is powerful enough already. I can't count how many games I'd
lost because of that card...

The same guy also claims that Luck of the Irish only counts as played
after the die roll has been done, on the account that without its
effect, LotI wouldn?t exist. Sounds metaphysical, but IMHO is only
ridiculous. By his opinion, two LotI could be played against the same
Stinger without one cancelling the other. I need official word on this
also.
Olaf has played against him lately, so Olaf might have additions to
this.

LOTI can be played to eliminated a special card currently in play. If
you play a Special card, your oponent can put a LOTI on it. If the LOTI
doesn't work, he can put another on it till he succeeds or runs out of
LOTI. LOTI must also be played *before* any die roll. So yes, you can
put a LOTI on a LOTI. First you roll the die to eliminate the first
LOTI. If it fails, you than roll the die of the first LOTI to eliminate
the Special card in play.

Thanks, Felix

Hope this will help.
