I've been trying to come up with an objective idea that lets one play
runners as challenges but there are so many possiblities.
One possiblity:
Battle Royale (20)
Unique
Runners may be played as challenges on this objective. When encountered
on a Shadowrun, set runners aside. If SR team pulls out of run, return
runners to challenge stacks.
Requirement: Shadowrunning team must fight runners encountered using
standard Runner on Runner combat rules. SR team is considered to be
attacking. Owner of Battle Royale controls defending team.
Bonus: 15 rep bonus if SR team defeats defending team.
Note that the defending team doesn't Have to be defeated to score the
objective. The SRing team just has to have somebody survive. The large
bonus is on purpose to represent how nasty this objective could become
with the right runners placed as challenges.
One problem I see with this objective is that it feeds the Hulk Smash
type of decks. That's one reason why it's Unique, you can't really build
a deck around it.
Or how about this, to encourage sleaze or diverse decks:
The People in Your Neighborhood (25)
Runners may be played on this objective as challenges. To sleaze
runner/challenges, SR team must contain a runner of the same type (Mage,
Rigger, Street Sam,...) as the type of runner/challenge encountered.
Runner/challenges can be sleazed even if alarm is triggered. If not
sleazed, treat runner/challenges as challenges and resolve combat as
normal.
It would also be possible to set sleazing requirements as the same as
the encountered runner's skills. (Torgo and Skwaaaaaark! become much
easier to get by.)
There are lots of other possibilities for this kind of objective, or
even a Special card played on an objective that would have the same
effect. I may try playtesting some of these just to see what kind of
abuses can result.
Anyone have any comments on these or other ideas on how to do this?
Please reply, but MAKE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR MAIL TO FIELD ON YOUR REPLIES
so they go to the list. I can't keep my personal addy from overwriting
the list addy. It's an email at work issue.
Much thanks,
