I think that this goes along way in explaning things. Fasa is a
profitable company, they can see where the main focus of their profits
are coming from and then they can take that money and spread it around
where they feel it needs to go. Of course they are going to reinvest
most of the money in the departments that made them the most money in
the first place. All that is left will trickle down into the other
departments.

Kind of on a side note... I think that with the various types of games
out there... not everyone can have the "king of the hill" in all aspects
of gaming... you need to do one thing and then do it well.
If you want a ccg with lots of cards and new expansions every 5 months
you had better be playing magic... they are the best at what they do.
If you want to RPG a fantasy world AD&D is king at the moment because
they have been around the longest and have the most available
information. If you want miniatures battletech and warhammer are the
places to play. L5R just released Clan Wars... a miniature system... it
has a long way to go to catch up with warhammer... and probably never
will. (I for one am not looking forward to painting another fragen 100
miniatures.) Shadowrun is the CyberPunk / magic mix system that is
rather unique... it has its own following and does very well. Every
company has their little off shoots of each of the game types, and if
your lucky you will come out with something good, like SRTCG. But these
off shoots are not the bread and butter of your company. You need to
stay focused on your big profit items so that you can make the little
shoot offs better and eventually you will have a strong standing in that
area as well.

I don't know if this got my point across or not, but to sum up. SRTCG
is still one of the better playing CCGs out there. I think that FASA has
done a great job, but I recognize that the CCG is not their main focus
so I will just have to be patient when it comes to expansions and the
like.
