Correct. I've heard from sources that talks over someone picking up ED are
still in the works. As further testimony to this, the group of us that ran the
ED tourney and demos at GC'98 were working out getting a PDF copy of the long
awaited and coveted "Dragons" sourcebook. However, the channels this would be
coming through were told by FASA Mike not to pass it out just yet. It would
seem that one of the bargaining chips for someone picking up the ED line is
FASA letting them know - "we've even got a book ready that the ED players are
really wanting to get ahold of, all you need to do is print it and put it on
the shelves."

Yea. The announcement about ED being retired was circulating a good couple of
months before GC'98. I and my players were just getting into the game about
then (partly as I prepped for judging) and since we're planning a long running
campaign, plans were being made to pick up what ED books we could at the Con.

From my usual sources, word is that FASA is looking to maintain rights and
license to the Earthdawn line. They're just looking for another company to
pick up development and writing of the system and material.

FASA Mike has even mentioned at GC that, depending on how the courting went,
FASA would quite possibly still sponsor and handle the ED tournies and demos
at the cons.
