use
:cyberware and spells also. I give him a Hellblast and then i give him
Wired
:Reflexes. If he intersepts a team of runners and uses his Hellblast
text
:says: turn to use Attack Value of Hellblast in place of user's Attack
Value.
:d6+8 inflicts 2 armour piercing damage on all runners present) I roll a
4 his
:attack value becomes 12 and all runners present take 2 AP damage. Then i
roll
:a 5 on his Wired Reflexes ( text says: roll d6 after each combat user
servives
:on 4+ user inflicts damage a second time.) I have him in heavy armour
and
:covered with stim patches so he servives the 5 is rolled. According to
the
:rules the Hellblast does his attack value again (12) and 2 AP to all
runners
:present.
: I don't think RPG logic or "real life" logic would support this
:interpritation of the combo, but the rules of the game do. Some of the SR
:story logic had to be sacrificed so these cards could still be made and
used
:in a fair well balanced card game.
: By the way what does everyone think of that combo?
I don't think it would work, because you have to turn the card to deal
the damage (it does not say so, but its a reasonable assumption). If it
did work, I'd expect a re-roll of the damage (its a separate use of the
spell). I'd expect you would need two hellblasts, using one for each
dealing of damage. The same would go for a rigger with wires using a
drone, or any runner with wires using a weapon with indirect fire, I
think.
Looking at things from an SR-game perspective, mages can have wires.
It hurts their magic, which is why most SRTCG burnt-out makes have low
magical skills. In SR, there is no limit to how many times a spell can be
used, but not all mages use spells (and conjuring) equally well. SRTCG
simulates that by giving those who don't use spells well a low sorcery
(for some reason it also has a tend towards sorcery=hermetic,
conjure=shaman, which is not true in SR). So "Wired Joe's" low sorcery
would only allow him to have so many spells (1, I think)- in SR, he COULD
cast multiple hellblasts, but each would be weak (or would really, really
hurt him to cast). It makes sense for him to get the fireball bonus once-
or at least to take damage from using it twice!
