Subject: [GridSec] Posting Sales and Auctions
Date: Sat, 12 Dec 1998 16:43:18 -0700
Since there's been a fair amount of posts mentioning specific dollar
amounts for sales and auctions lately, it's time to post a little part of
the FAQ that you should -all- read and follow. Fail to follow the
guidelines posted will result in a warning, and subsequent violations will
result in temporary unsubscription.

The full SRCard FAQ can be read at

Trading cards
-Posts of your current trade and looking for lists should have something in
the subject line to indicate that the post is a trade post. [Trade] or
[Trade List] are both a good way to distinguish a Trade post from a regular
post. Other Subject lines are a bit off the wall, like Crazy
Achmed's Mad Cow. His subject is constantly changing, but it's obvious
Crazy Achmed is the Trade List for Gilbert Glaze. (List.member.weirdo)

If you see a post that has cards you want to trade for, please reply off
list. This is now considered a private conversation, and the rest of the
list is not interested in reading your personal mail. ;o)

Selling cards
Posting lists of cards to sell is NOT allowed. If you are looking to sell,
or buy, you may post to the list of your intentions, but any following
posts *must* be taken to private email. Do *not* post a list of cards and
prices. The software that the mailing list runs on is for non-profit use
only, and to protect the people who run iTribe, the list admins, and
everyone on the list, this policy was adopted when the SRCard list was
created.

Some card collecting magazines publish a list of card prices.

Thank you,
Adam J

These messages were posted a long time ago on a mailing list far, far away. The copyright to their contents probably lies with the original authors of the individual messages, but since they were published in an electronic forum that anyone could subscribe to, and the logs were available to subscribers and most likely non-subscribers as well, it's felt that re-publishing them here is a kind of public service.
