Subject: More on healing and regeneration...
Date: Mon, 14 Dec 1998 14:49:20 -0500
Possibly this was already decided, but why not have regeneration similar to
fame? For every one point of regeneration, a point of damage is removed
automatically whether or not the vampire turns to heal. Also, a potential
draw back from vampires is biotech will not work on them - maybe the
medical techniques and magics involved will not work upon their altered
physical make-up. Maybe Don's card, "Blood Bank", is the only way a
vampire could heal completely while if they do enter combat against a
runner, if they are successful, after fragging the other runner, possibly
the opponent's defensive body minus the essence loss due to enhancements
will a vampire gain from feeding.

Example - Neerith Davenshade (7/4) is bleeding(?) after a mage slave
thought he looked a tad pale... so said mage decided to give him some color
by toasting him with a fireball. So Neerith is currently (7/1)! and knows
the nearest blood bank is across town while the same direction is starting
to look a bit reddish (sun is rising, using the excellent idea of day and
night). Stumbling along, a snide comment about "Ya gonna buy that or just
read all day?" filters his ears, and looking around, enters combat against
Grandpa Moses (0/1) selling the morning papers. Neerith rips the guy's
heart out (while taking the 'Daily Times' mind you) and gains (1 - 0
essence loss) 1 point, making him a (7/2). Before reaching his lair, a
street ganger with dermal armor thought Neerith looked like easy pickings.
Fortunately for Neerith, the ganger realized how poor his katana suddenly
was crafted before getting his head ripped off. The ganger had a defensive
body of 6, but because 3 points of essence was used for the dermal armor,
Neerith gains only 3 points of blood while cursing about biting into metal
plates. As he climbs into his coffin for the day, he makes note he should
stock up on sun screen...

Just my rambling thoughts,
