Yeah... the merger is a bit of a disappointment for a variety of reasons,
this among them :/

((This sort of answers a couple of other comments I saw as well :))
Well, Cannon Companion, an updated Gunbook that combines FoF and SSC and
all the other guns that have graced various sourcebooks, plus adds in a
bunch of new ones (And should ROCK when it comes out. It's got some FUN
toys in it :)). Should be out next month.
Brainscan, an adventure set ala' Harlequin that follows up on Renraku:
Shutdown. Should be out soonish.
Year of the Comet, this years big storyline event product, is well... VERY
cool :] Not sure when that will come out, as it's not quite in the writing
stage yet.
Target: Awakened Lands. Covers Australia and some other magical lands...
And a few others that either aren;t fleshed out yet or I can;t remember off
hand :]
As for comments about "rehashed books", well... Keep in mind that besides
trying to update everything to the new edition (A sizeable task for a game
with as much priduct as SR has)... Well, the update books, while a nice
resource for us old timers, aren;t being done for the established SR
players. We have the books and can play quite well with them.
However, FASA has been trying (VERY successfully, I should add) to increase
it's player base. And to get a player hooked, and then tell them "Oh, and
now here's 10 books that are all pretty much core books that you should
buy" is a bit ridiculous. It's a lot easier to say "In addition, we
suggest these 5 books, one for each class".
Anyways, glad to be back :]
