Peeps...

These are a few, basic short story ideas to mull over. Feel free to use
them, build on them, whatever.

A story from the perspective of one of the blues - s/he's being
controlled by Deus, but his/her mind is free to a certain extent and
s/he wants out.

A story from the perspective of someone trapped in one of Deus' mazes.

A story involving some of the core characters trying to escape the
labyrinth after being chased in there by Deus' troops (the labyrinth is
the maze with the big, nasty construct in it).

I think I had some more, but I've forgotten them. Hopefully they'll
come back to me.

Btw, speaking of the nasty construct in the labyrinth, who's
encountered it in a game? And what did it turn out to be?
Alternatively, what do you THINK it is? My idea atm is the mechanical
equivalent of a giant carnivorous plant (with tentacles, of course). It
sits in its lair (it's immobile in this theory), and uses its extremely
long tentacles to snare prey.

Also, I've got a couple of ideas from Severian I'm going to put out
shortly. Just waiting on a bit of feedback to my reply.

Later.

Ok, my idea on what the construct is: A super medusa.
That's not quite right though. Same basic concept as the medusa... except,
make it's legs less powerful (no jumping, small amounts of movement) And
more cilia (lil hair like things, I think I spelled it right) cover it
body, giving it full sensing capabilities (low light, thermo, sound,
tactile [if someone is foolish enough to get that close], etc.) Or, you
could combine the medusa idea and the carnivorous plant idea... but it
would have to be mobile, IMO, since the maze is constantly changing, and
the center/lair would likely move. I think an immobile maze guardian would
be too restrictive for Deus' tests.

That's what I think it is as well. You've hit the nail on the head.

I like it, although I think its size would make movement very limited.
Also, I seem to recall something in RA:S about the guardian having a
lair in the centre of the labyrinth from which it doesn't move. Could
someone check me on that?
