Hi,
Got a copy of Corporate Download and got to read the section on Renraku.
After reading it, I had a copule of questions about how to handle the black
ops team. Do we want to make it red samurai or exclusive shadowrunners.
Also, according to CD, the red samurai use the front door method, not the
sneak around method, therefore if we go with red samurai, do we want to have
them be the ones that get killed by the UCAS?

Yeah, I suppose you could call them exclusive shadowrunners, but that
has kinda the wrong connotation. Think black ops people like the ones
in RA:S - they have things in common with shadowrunners (no SIN etc.),
but they work for Renraku and only for Renraku. They're loyal corp
critters, but circumstances of birth have made them able to serve in
unique ways.

WHY do I say people like that, not Red Samurai? Well, because the Red
Sams are soldiers. They do garrison work (guarding the arc), they do
assault work (taking the arc back) - they DON'T do black bag work. If
Renraku wanted the Red Sams to get Cliber, they'd send a whole bunch of
them in to take over the area of the arc where she was. They wouldn't
send a small team to extract her. Not their area of expertise.

Moot point - and I think the Renraku-ambushing-UCAS scenario makes more
sense anyway.

Could you give me a page or section refernce?

Don't know the name, but it's the section that starts off talking about
a girl who took a dive out of the arc shortly after it shut down and is
basically the mission log of her (she was the rigger) and her team's
attempt to find out wtf was going on inside the arc. It's quite
distinctive. Most of it follows a <name of speaker> <words spoken>
format.

Oh really? Didn't know that. By your tone of voice ( :) ), though, it
sounds like they're assault teams, not covert ops teams. Correct?
Incorrect?

One thing - if you wanted to use Red Sammies, you'd go for the black
ops over normal Red Sams - and you'd REALLY have to change your team
composition. The Red Samurai are incredibly racist (and sexist, I
think, although to a lesser degree). Mostly japanese, all human, I believe.
