Look, you all are complaining about the character creation system and the
need to use 0,1,2,3, and 4 each. There must be a reason for it, you know.
Because of my chosen abode just north of the Chi town sprawl, I get to go to
that great annual occurence called GEN CON every year. Our illustrious leader
Tom Dowd told me to my face that the reason for this rule in creation was to
keep people from "Monty Haul"ing their characters. Could you imagine a
samurai with a tech of 4 and a skill of 4. This guy would run rampant through
any campaign using archetypes and contacts from the Shadowrun books. And and
FASA published adventure would be a joke. Using the method FASA put forth
reminds characters that they are mortal.
