Doesn't GE make a 30mm cannon which fits into the mounting for an M2 machine
gun? I bet it weighs like an overweight elephant, but it should be mountable
on a gyro mount in that case...

Yes they do, but the US Army didnt buy it that way. I concurr that it
would be able to be mounted on a gyro, but you would need an even heavier
version to handle it, lots of batteries, and ways to carry more than 1
seconds worths of ammo. Hell it cycles 600 rounds a second I believe.
