Hey folks!

i was stupid enough to sign myself in as a GM for a local RPG con.

And somhow I'm suffering from wirter's block: I cannot get a good hold on
an idea for an adventure.

I'd be glad if anyone has any idea or even a ready made adventure (should
last 3-4 hours, newby friendly) for me.

Thanks in advance.

P.S.: http://www.jack-ryan.de/ger_slang.txt has the first very, very rough
and short version of my "slang file".

Well I was going to be a smart-hoop and say Food Fight, but then thought
better of it.
================================================Newb friendly...

How about a simple courier mission?
Package: a few simple parts. Metahuman body parts.
For a classic touch, have the parts sealed inside a
Coleman's cooler.

Recepiant: Tammonuos

Johnson: Shady street doc trying to make some cred on the side to help Lone
Star look the other way (there's been a few too many people turning up dead
a few blocks from his office and he finally decided "waste not, want not"
and is now deciding to sell leftovers to the organ leggers.)

It doesn't have to turn really ugly till the end with the goul guards. They
could attack or they could be ordered to hold off on anyone carring a
(insert color) ice chest.

Could be hounded by the Star or other runners.

What if they decide to look inside the box? Who do they turn to? Do they
call the Star about the drop off?
=================================================
Sure it's a little gorey but the last movie I saw was Freddy vs Jason and
I'm also trying to write as Aztechnology so I'm kinda in an evil mindset.

That's all I got. Someone want to build on this or offer something else?

Every morning I fill a glass halfway with water and ask myself "Is it half
full or half empty?" Then I relize I'm thristy and just drink it.

Go to their Shadowrun-area and klick 'support'.
'Abenteuer'.

Some of the newer ones should fit your needs.

Yeah, i already thought of it, but they aren't so appealing to me, a last
reasort, nothing more right now.

Hm, I could dig through the NAGEE, too, I think there were one or two in
the copies I have.

"Duft einer Königin" is always nice. ;-)

Some issues had plot ideas or even adventures in them.

Also, try to go to Blackjacks site (hosted at dumpshock too) and
geht his "Burnout! 501 ideas" pdf. There're only two or three sentences
each, but... Heck. The stories you can wave with them!

Throwing in some encounters from Sprawl Sites / Asphaltdschungel
should be entertaining, too.

The first adventure I ever ran was a courier mission of sorts. The PCs
were sent to an east coast major airport to pick up a package that they
were then supposed to bring back to Seattle.

When they arrived at the airport a heavily cybered man in a black suit
showed up with their package: a young woman (a *very* smart scientist who
was defecting from one Megacorp to another Megacorp). The man was her
bodyguard, who had fallen in love with her and was willingly helping her
get away. They had told the Mega that she was going to the airport to meet
a friend from Europe.

Unfortunately, they made a mistake somewhere and a fast reaction squad
arrived seconds after introductions between the PCs and the woman. Because
the fast reaction squad was fast, they were also lightly armed (with
respect to the bodyguard). The bodyguard shouted to the PCs to take the
woman and run while he held off the FRS.

When I ran it I purposefully left if very open and allowed the PCs to make
it to Seattle any way they could. IIRC, they bribed the pilot of a small
plane who got them as far as Denver. Then they had to make border
crossings and travel overland (had a few paranormal and tribal
encounters). Finally, they had to sneak into Seattle (I think one of them
had a smuggler contact).

Might give you some ideas tho :)

I thought about it, but I don't think that newbies, with freshly printed
characters, should battle anything remotely similar to an insect...

Hm, good.

All I need are ideas, that's waht I don't have right now, so i'm
plundering a webpage or two for loot, er, ideas.

Dunno, these encounters aren't that good, too cliche for me, but it can
introduce my victims, er, players to the combat rules.

Yes, I think I'll have an adventure ready this weekend. Good Thing.

And thanks.

Yeah, I will frighten them to Death with a scene similar to the above.

I won't make the travel all too long, but I will provide the group with a
very difficult task: finding the friend of the package, or (s)he will
refuse to join the new employer. Which will get upset, coz the group
"needs so long" to deliver the package. Heh, first adventure and already
double-crossed. This will be true 3\/1l, hehe.

Just thought of a great steal for this. In the opening sequence of Ghost
in the Shell there's a scene where the bodyguards who look like businessmen
with briefcases depress a switch (or issue a cybernetic command) and the
briefcase falls away leaving them with compact submachine guns (see the
Camouflaged SMG on this page
http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Fuji/3598/gits5.htm).

The squad corporate FRS could be similarly armed.

Also, as soon as they start firing, the airport alarms should sound
immediately with request for security at the PCs location. Hopefully that
will help push the PCs to run, rather than trying to fight it out with the
FRS and airport security.

Quick summaries:

Infected Greetings - http://tss.dumpshock.com/18/4.html - a relatively
straight up run with some legwork and basic infiltration.

Runaway Joe - http://tss.dumpshock.com/16/art16-d.html - the mafia and
yakuza butt heads over a missing person.

More adventure submissions would rock, by the way. They give me an excuse
to make maps. :-)

Best,
Adam
