Uhm, what instance are you thinking of here VN?

Is this a beginning character or an NPC concept???

I pointed that out as well.

Yeah, that is an improvement I must admit.

I'm sure its been done. And actually, I must admit the Daemons and Agents
are probably the area of greatest potential, even if they are the hardest to
come by due to the immense programming times that are involved. I've often
wondered the extents and limits of them, especially since it is now possible
to create an Agent/Daemon, Frame/Sprite that can serve as a better Autopilot
than what is even remotely possible withing the rules of R3.

Matrix pg 138, bottom right corner, Otaku can spend Good Karma Points to
purchase extra successes (1 per success) to further reduce time.

SR3.1 BBB, pg 246. "Buying Successes"
A player can purchase successes for his character BURNING 1 Karma POOL
point per success. Must have one success naturally.

Thats a pretty big difference :-)

Yes, but I was first, so HA! :-)

Uhm, perhaps it wasn't very clear. NO CHARACTER can buy successes in a
skill test with anything but Karma Pool. That may perhaps make a good,
suggestable, errata simply in an attempt to make information more clear in
the future.

But that is a fundamental rule of the game.

so, the Matrix option for lowering the time with good karma (which it
specifically states "Good Karma") is an error?
this only applies to one specific action (for the test to reduce time)...

No VN, it isn't an error, but perhaps you are trying to draw the wrong kinds
of conclusions to the material. Think of this way, the tasks in Matrix are
not all that different than any other build/repair or skill success test.
The same rules for karma expenditures work across the board now.

not sure what you're saying.
Otaku can spend Good karma for successes on their programming test.
otaku and everyone else can burn Karma Pool for automatic successes in
any dice roll.

So, what wrong conclusions am I drawing?
Unless you're saying ANYBODY can spend Good Karma now for automatic
successes on certain dice rolls?

Everyone has always been able to spend karma for automatic successes for
years now on a variety of potential necessities, including B/R, design,
programming, etc.....

yes, option two, burn karma pool. Is there abook reference where they
have been able to spend good karma besides this one instance?
