The discussions of mages casting magic in the matrix and AI mages has been
quite interesting and it got me to thinking. Mages cast magic in matrix?
No way. AI's cast magic? You've got to be kidding. These ideas are just
IMHO based on my readings of fiction and the rules books. Please don't
flame me. (Besides, my mage didn't allocate any magic defense dice to
me...) How about this twist: Instead of decker/mage accessing computer
system to cast magic in matrix have an AI access a decker/mage to cast
magic in the "real" world.
EEEEK!
Could a truly advanced AI access a living-being as if it were simply a
printer or a Mr. Soi-Caf? Scary. Now make that living-being a mage/
shaman and could the AI cast magic through this living entity? Very
scary.
Talk about your nasty corporate black IC! Rather than just kill the
decker/mage with a mind-frying voltage spike the IC takes over the mind,
has it cast a manablast on everyone in local area and then spikes out the
poor fool. Maybe it would even access the "files" where he keeps the
whereabouts of his chummers on this run and dispatch corp stormtroopers
to do them in to?
Double EEEEK!
Oh well, maybe I just drank to much over the weekend and I'm just having
paranoid ramblings but...
