protect their employer, and wanted some feedback.
I let my players spend their dodgepool on someone elses behalf,
if their standing nearby(1/2 quickness meters), and may also provide some
cover for the target. Say, around 25% to 75% depending on their relative
position and the bodyards size (dragons are great for cover!). of course
the bodyguard gets hit too. Until now i've just run it on GMD, but i
guess i'll have make some rules on the spot. Here goes:
1. Subtract the bodyguards' successes from the attack, just as if the
target had dodged himself
2. Then the target dodges and resolves damage normally
3. Then bodyguard now takes damage from the base attack (incl. BF/FA)
staged up by the number of successes from the protection-dodge roll.
this damage CANNOT be reduced by using leftover dodgepool
This will protect the target, but not make the bodyguards too anxious to
step in the line of fire
