Yes! Do it! My sammie has dikoted cyberspurs, and while the cost for
getting them removed, dikoted, and re-implanted was exorbitant at
best, whoa!!!, the damage! Serious base damage makes for alot more
kills during melee.

I would like to take this moment to say, you do not have to have them
removed. If they are retractable or not, a micro-thin sheet of heat
treated plas-steel will sufficently protect the hand. Sting like hell, but
no blisters.

Many people fear Death, saying it is the bitter end.
I say Death is just lonely, crying out for a friend.

Most spurs, like most hand razors, are easily removable. At least that
was the impression I was under. Otherwise it would be absolute hell
trying to clean them up after a fight. Imagine the problems that
blood-coated spurs could cause if you had to retract them after a fight
without cleaning, and then couldn't remove them. Think infection.
Anyhow, this isn't a point that I'm rabid about, and it may vary from
campaign to campaign, so do as you like.
