the problem of erradicating munchkin type parties concern so many of you
GM`s here is my solution tried and tested!
(cunning and intelligent GM`s (virtually all GM`s) should implement
these measures effectively if thought is added!!)

Some stern measures are to be taken here. I had the same problem with my
group about 2 years ago, here is how I solved it...
(anti-munchkin in you`re measures!)
1. Try to get a decent (real) roleplayer to play with you`re group
sometimes.
2. Make obstacles harder so they wont take as many risks and have to use
their brain more! (this often involves killing off the party once or
twice!)
3. Give them objectives that dont require that much violence.
(you`ll make them into "a few mc guivers" in no time at all!!)
4. Try to restrict big guns and other lethal overkill stuff.
(i) Tell them they are weighed down by the weight of their Panther AC
+ all the many shells they carry.
(ii) Make them WAIT for the weapons to become available.
(iii) Only allow street sams etc. to begin with such weapons.
(iv) If they consistently carry about huge weapons all the time,
try aresting them with "passing" lone star officers!
5. (this suplements an earlier measure) Put them up against superior
NPC`s - teach them to be devious.
The PC`s are almost garuanteed to hate this at first but the end result
isa group technically excellent and effective (and enjoyable) PC`s who
end up enjoying the game more than ever. These are the type of
roleplayers that will continue to play when most others burn out at 18!
P.S If I`ve left out anything please (anyone) reply with you`re ideas
added in. In retrospect I`m sure I`ve left some important tactics out...
