There's a big difference between changing shape and converting your meat
body into an astral body. Even free spirits are manifesting on the mundane
plane. An inherently meat body leaving our plane completely I think would
be impossible. I wouldn't make dragon's that powerful, but that's personal
opinion. You did say it was a house rule.

Well not TOO easy, but I guess it would give you time to find an aircraft to
kamakazi into the body, or time to plant some demo charges...:)

Seriously, they ought to have to deal with some of the same problems other
mages do (like arranging a guard for your meat while your project).

I'm sure a greater dragon has enough spirit-help it can bring in
on its own power to guard its body.

Not impossible. There are spells and talents in Earthdawn that allow astral
travel via the meat body....
And, if it's possible in Earthdawn, it's possible for Immortal elves and
dragons.....
