I have been looking for the canon info regarding this subject. Specifically
I was looking for the Portfolio of a Dragon and the first book of the Dragon
Heart Trilogy. I have had very little luck finding either (except once on
ebay for a ridiculous price). I can find snippets in some of the other
source books, but nothing concrete. So I was hoping somebody out there may
have an alternative source (website, summary info, other books with good
info). Or, if the above mentioned books are really that helpful, are they
worth the price?

Thanks for the help

Depends what you have to pay for them. I got both of mine at list price, and
consider them well worth it. DragonHeart is a fairly good read, even if it
does have some ED recycling going on...

<PLUG>fof.net may have both in stock (my local game store support for the
year</plug>

Also, check bn.com - they may still have / be able to get the dragonheart
novels.

Of course, the last word in Dragonheart bk 3 makes the series worth it,
IMNSHO.

Try here.

They have an online credit card purchase capability too. The three Dragon
Heart books are listed for about A$12.00 or so.

I believe you can Stranger Souls (DHS #1) on http://www.fasa.com, and
http://www.doordice.com I know it's out of print now and harder and harder
to find. That sucks.

The last word in the last book of the Dragonheart Saga (at least, in the
copy I borrowed off Chipeloi) is "Odom" -- the very last page has an advert
for other SR novels, and on the last line it says ... *looks in book*

*embarrased pause*

Ahem, sorry, I looked in the wrong book this morning :) The last word in the
third book is actually "Smedman", in a similar advert to what I was talking
about above; the last line is "Blood Sport, by Lisa Smedman" -- so taken
literally, you feel that the book is worth it because the name Smedman is
in it :)

All that said, I'm amazed nobody's thwapped me yet for making that reply in
the first place... Where's this list coming to? :)

Obviously, I was referring to the last word in the author's portion of the
book, rather than the last word on the last page printed by Fasa. ;>

Nah.. save the ammunition Jonathan... Gurth's already been so thoroughly
blasted that the mere scent of it lingers around the stairs. Personally, I
think its part of his evil plan to horde the stairs to himself. Make
approaching them as impossible as you can, and let others do that work for
you (saves on cost overhead).

And Gurth... I'm sure there are others who are planning as well for
bombardment level retaliation... me, I'll scheme for a while... ;-)

It was my understanding that Ghostwalker is actually Icewing, Dunkelzahn's
brother, also known as Puppetmaster, and several other dragon names.
Dunkelzahn (Mountainshadow) and Ghostwalker (Icewing) are both descended
from All-Wings, and they have a special bond as such. Probably the rift
created by Dunkelzahn's death "called" out to Ghostwalker's lost soul (lost
in some elemental plane, no doubt) so that he could find his way back to
Earth. The physical description of Ghostwalker is very similar to Icewing,
and the comments from the other great dragons, as well as his use of spirits
and other manifestations, seem to verify.

Dunkelzahn is not totally "dead", as it were... it is implied at the end of
the Dragonheart trilogy that he reincarnated as the spirit Lethe, the
current owner of the orichalcum focus known as the Dragon Heart (created by
Dunkelzahn when he died). This is very confusing for people who haven't read
the novels, so I'll just leave it at that. Suffice to say, this closed the
door on any looming "Horror invasion" plotline that may surface, though some
of the Horrors did manage to escape into Earth.

I'm currently using "Chantrel's Horror" as my own personal plot device
at the moment. My players keep asking me if I wanted to have an early
Halloween or something like that.

where did you get the info on ghostwalker (icewing)? and Mountainshadow as
one of Dunkie's names that he hasn't shared?

It's also hinted that Dark Tooth is in fact Mountainshadow in
disguise.

From the Earthdawn main rulebook (the first (FASA) edition anyway; I
haven't looked at the second), it's pretty clear that Dunkelzahn is the
Sixth World name of the ED dragon Mountainshadow -- in the latter's
description, it states that Mountainshadow has a "human agent" named Dark
Tooth. Translate that into German, and you get ... precisely.
