The generic name is Chaff. The old code name for it from WWII was Window.
i have seen ideas for some improvements to it. Say you take one in 50
strips and put on a small computer chip and battery. It records the signal
of the radar hitting it and them broadcasts it repeatadly for the next
minute or two. So you not only get the reflections of the original radar
but echos from the intelegent chips and the reflections of their signals
off the regular chaff.

Sorry to say, but Gurth's stairs are now protected by something even
worse. The boB chaff dispenser (bCD). The bCD launches thousands of
tiny boBs (there's dispute as to whether these are miniaturized boBs,
dwarf boBs, or baby boB clones) into the missile's flight path. The
odds are *very* high that one of the mini-boBs will contact and
incubate the missile, convert it to the church of boB, after which
point the missile will make a sharp left turn and fly straight on until
sunset.

This information comes straight from the CARPenters' Newsletter.

Excellent. Now I know why the tests were failing....

oBo nannites will be put in the next version.
MUWAHHAHA!

Why am I destroying Gurth's stairs you ask? Because now that he has
moved to the Elder's resort, the stairs only hide rebels and
miscreants... :)

I actually prefer the stairs sometimes...
They're more homely...

More homely? Well of course. Dank dark understairs smelling of carp on
the outside and moldy pizza and sweaty gamers on the inside, that's worse
than homely...

Oh wait, you meant *homey* didn't you?

I don't know, I've gotten quite used to watching the carp bounce off our
state of the art piscine shield. Better than fireworks on the fourth of
July sometimes. AND you can lounge by the pool too. One gets used to that
right quick.

Speaking of which, I haven't seen you by the pool in daytime Spike. I've
seen you trying to catch some moonrays, but I'm afraid that won't help your
typical British pallor...

I see my misinformation campaign has succeeded... I have no
intention of moving to the elders' resort, I'm staying where I am -
- after all, with Spike and Bull's redecoration, everything I need is
at hand here.

Ok, then let me rephrase what I wrote: the stairs only hide rebels,
miscreants, and Gurth. :)

So why did you have to rephrase again? :)

My Tan's only just faded....

Little does Gurth know, that there are also some little booby traps hidden
away, especially tuned to those incubated into the FCotSB....

Muhahahahaha....
