Hey folks,

Paolo and I have whipped up a brief FAQ about FASA closing. Comments,
corrections, questions we've missed, and that sort of thing are welcome.

So, according to the FAQ's copy of LRG's statement, FASA isn't actually
closing down they are just selling off the majority of their intellectual
property lines?

>From the statement:
"Because FASA will continue to exist as a Corporation, and Earthdawn is not
one of the intellectual properties that they are selling, our license
contract with FASA will continue uninterupted."

What else does FASA do?

FASA will have to exist in some form for the next X years to continue to
claim money from licensing agreements, money they are owed from other
sources, etc.

What do you mean? The complete current list of games is Shadowrun,
Battletech, Mechwarrior, Crimson Skies, Crucible, Vor, plus the Ral Partha
mini's, and then money they make from licensing their properties out...

Well, you answered that for me in your first comment. The statement that
had me was "FASA will continue to exist as a Corporation" through me off. I
didn't know if they were into other things and the gaming stuff was just a
small part of the big picture. I guess not.

Thanks

This is an interesting question, because even after I read the FAQ (and
redrafted smaller version for our own site really quick)... I had to wonder
other than games production... what else was there.

Part of me thinks this may merely be a mis-statement of some kind, but I do
not know for certain of course (speculation).

Of course, this is only speculation - like everyone else's weighing-in, but
as far as I can tell, it means exactly what it says: "FASA will continue to
exist /as a Corporation./" Legally and in terms of businesses, FASA will
still exist /as a Corporation./ Just a Corporation of paper and plastic,
which is, essentially, what Adam said.
