This came up durring the last game session, Fuel. How much does it
cost ? We looked and looked but couldn't really find anything about
it. Is fuel part of a riggers lifestyle ? Is it anything about it in
Rigger 2 cause we sure couldn't find anything about it in Rigger 1,
but then it was 2 am so that could explain it.

Fuel price anybody ?

/Stefan

I am having all sorts of fun with fuel prices ... I'm using 1 nuyen for a
gallon or PF for a normal vehicle and upwards of 2 nuyen for aircraft and
marine vehicles ...

The group really hates me right now ... they have spent so far over 55,000
nuyen getting a transport plane from Atlanta, GA to Diego Garcia for a run on
a cargo ship in the Indian Ocean ...

Aircraft fuel is extremely low - grade fuel. Real cheap stuff... down
there with heater oil. OTOH let's assume gas gets taxed to comply
with the environmental hazard act of 2010*, so it costs 5 nuyen per
gallon for normal vehicle, 4 for marine, 2 for aircraft.
(Aircraft also use *TONS* of fuel and refuel from few locations, so
distribution per gallon is lots cheaper.). If they don't get taxed,
no problem - the pricing could be somewhere on that relative scale.
(1 nuyen per gallon to 0.4 nuyen per gallon, e.g.).

* Fictious, but not unlikely. Nowhere mentioned in SR AFAIK.

Mike is right now shafting us on the price of Jet Fuel like you wouldn't
believe (HIYA MIKE!).

Sadly, SR doesn't really give ideas what the cost of fuels of any kind are,
let alone JP-#. We've been known to convert the going rate of gave here in to
a cost per liter instead of a cost per gallon, but that just really scares us
on price at times (no wonder people are turning to the Matrix for their
vacations, its cheaper).

And remember, if you are running LONG stuff with LOTS of flying (like we are
now, running all over the place in a modified TR55-C), keep lots of receipts
-somehow- and make sure the Johnson is given the stuff as "operating
expenses". Sometimes I think stuff like this would make any corporate sponsor
things vanish.

As a comparison ... for those of us in the states .. imaguine paying 4
(roughly) times the cost for a gallon of fuel ... the Europeans are paying
that much (as they pay by the liter and their rate of taxation on fuel is very
very high) ...

Yup ... though sometimes Johnsons do factor that in .. which is why they may
not offer the entire amount for the run to the runners ... it just cuts into
his profits some ...

The prices for fuel are explained in the Rigger 2 book. It tells you of
a monthly price that riggers must pay to keep their vehicles in top
shape. It is the full price of the vehicle's price divided by
one-hundred.

I just wanted to add that although Mr. Wuurm doesn't actually say this
includes fuel, it does. I believe that is one of the speciaficly mentioned
"costs" included in the "Vehicle Upkeep." If you are using vehicles
alot a
espically suggest otempo rules. the way I do it is that there is a certain
amount of "Upkeep" on all vehicles (1/2 or normal) plus, any vehicle you use
will require more upkeep based on how much you use it (Full otempo cost). I
think this is a variation of one of the ways it suggests in R2. BTW, R2
rocks.
