Can anyone give me the descriptions of these Edges in SR3? A player wants
to know what they do, and I only have SR2Comp (SR3Comp nowhere to be found
in the Netherlands).

And did they just change the costs of a few Edges and Flaws, or did they
tweek the whole system?

The High School and College Education Edges are in the SR2Comp...at least
in the US Version. I can't recall the High School Edge, but the College
edge lets you default to other "college type education" skills at only +1.
Like going from Physics to Chemistry and Math, etc. I believe the High
School does the same but for a different category? There is also Tech
School edge which does the same but for technical skills like Electronics.

I don't think they changed the cost of the edges and flaws from the SR2
version, but I didn't take a super close look. Mostly for the edges and
flaws they took ones listed in other books like VR2, Rigger 2 and
CyberPirates and added them. And then added one or two actual new ones.

I know. That's why I ask what they do in SR3 (with the completely changed
system - there's no skill web anymore, remember?).

No more High School Education.
College and Technical Shool Education edges decreases the defaulting
modifier for Academic Knowledge and Background Knowledge skills
(respectively) by 1.

Yes. :)

There are some changes to many of the edges and flaws. Some have been
removed completely (addiction is gone.) while new ones have been added (I
just made a character with the Astral Chameleon edge :). Check it out
when you get the chance.

Not having the book with me, here's what I remember to get you started.

College Education reduces the defaulting penalty from one college type
Knowledge skill to another closely related Knowledge skill from +2 to +1 and
all college type Knowledge skills default to Intelligence at +3 instead of
+4. Please don't hold me to exact wording here.

Technical School Education reduces the defaulting penalty in a similiar
fashion for Background skills.

I personally don't think Tech School Ed is worth the cost since it
specifically states in BBB that Background skills may never, unless
specifically noted, be used as Complementary Skills. I have been considering
changing, in my own game, the Tech School Edge to apply to B/R skills. I
think that would make it a little more worthwhile. Just my thoughts, open
for comment.

HS education doesn't exist anymore, it's now the "baseline" education a
shadowrunner is assumed to have (which, IMHO, is a good thing). College
Education costs 1 point, as does Technical School Education. CE allows you
to default to Academic Knowledge skills at +1 from a skill, +2 from a
specialization, and +3 from an attribute. TSE does the same but for
Background Knowledge skills.

Funny, a few of my players bought it not too long ago (at the
Spellenspektakel, I think).

They changed some edge and flaw costs, and tweaked the building point cost
table a bit (like adding otaku and shapeshifters, and using different
costs for drwaf/ork and elf/troll).

Maybe then, but after 800 guilders in two days I decided it was enough (I
was so glad I finally found RA:S). I can't find it at the moment in Utrecht
or Amsterdam, and they told it me it was currently sold out at the
distributor. I'll just have to wait a few weeks I guess.

Good point :)

Though I don't get to the big cities often, the few times I have gone to
some game stores, I've left disappointed about what they stock just about
every time...
