The European critter book is very distinct on it: Goblins are the vampiric
(or a vampiric) form of Dwarfs. Even more interesting is that they don't
have infection, if I recall, and the shadowbabble in their entry points out
that that means someone is most likely deliberately _spreading_ the virus...

A good point. All other vampiric base-forms are not dual-natured.

I know _that_, Jason, I was wondering about the "werewolfization." Sheesh,
read it yourself. :-). I was mumbling in my beard about whether the
Loup-Garou virus would do to any other metatype besides normal humans.
Since Loup-Garou is French for "werewolf," I coined the useful phrase above
to show a person contracting the lovely illness. No Shapechangers need
apply.

Having corrected that bit of trivia, I return to my lurking. :-)

Actually, Doctor Doom pointed out that Sastacques (hell I can't spell) become
bandersnatches when infected with HMHVV. This means that Dual-natured beings
can be affected by HMHVV and that HMHVV is not isolated to "Human MetaHuman"
as the name implies.

There is no Loup-Garou virus. The legends of "were-creatures" were merely
memories of Shapeshifters. The stuff about were's infecting their prey and
turning into humans when killed were just errorenous.

Or another thought: that there IS something like that in SR. Chilling...

Are you certain that the Sasquatches _aren't_ Metahuman? There
are plenty more Metahuman races out there than we've heard about.
Just _what_ does that 'Other' line they always give in the
population stats mean, anyway? HMHVV victims, Ghouls, Leshy,
beings like that, I'd say . . .

He was referring to the variant on the HMHVV that the loup-garou
contract to become bestial psychotic killers. It seems that
every magical virus that pops up is called a variant on HMHVV,
Me, I think it was planted by the Horrors, but who'm'I to judge?
