:and BBB3) that pops out of the side of the palm, would be too bulky
:IMHO for implantation into a cyberhand with a smartgun induction pad,
:as I stated above. Your Mileage May Vary.
:
How big do you figure that "pad" must be. The cocnep of a thick wedge
of metal in your hand seems pretty outmoded; flexable conductors would
work, and there work toaday on building fractal antenae into CHIPS. I
don't think the link would need to take up much physical space. That
does't improve concealablity much; when shaking hands, you might notice a
person has a WART in thier palm- humans are tuned to notice such things.
It might need a power source, but then so would the hand.
:This means small, simple things like a tracking beacon, could still
:fit in, but larger items like a cellphone, or optical chip based audio
:player, would be too big. (However, if the smartlink pad were left
:out, I think either of those last two would _just_ barely fit)
:
SR has EARPLUG phones; you put those in a fingertip. (Then actually
hold your hand like a "phone"). The bulky part of a OC player would be
the buttons, amp, and speakers; one designed for cyber control and
headware playback could be TINY (the ear recorder includes playback, and
its headware).
:Of course, this is all for the concealable "synthetic" cyberhands. If
:you want to go for the obvious chrome look, then you can cram a lot
:more in, though don't have me go glove shopping for you for the
:hollidays. Either route, if you're going to be cramming more than 2 or
:3 items into one cyberhand, then you'll most likely have to get the
:thing custom made, which means the GM should feel free to add a mark
:up on parts, and charge for the labor too.
Well, there's the catch; how much space does the internals of the hand
require, and can their layout be altered? That would put a big damper on
using multiple non-minturizable systems, and even a cap on electronics,
eventually.
