Insect Shamans are quite rare. The alien nature of the Insect Totems causes
many of their prospective followers to go insane before they can be of any
use to the Totem. However they might be more common in their rareness in
insect-rich regions, though I doubt the technology level would make any
difference at all.
>> Homosexual characters? <shrug> Who cares? Does it really matter?

I wouldn't dismiss a character's sexual preference so quickly. SP is a very
important part of a person. Whether it is hetero, homo, bi, non, conservative,
liberal, romantic, blonde or anything else it can have extreme effects on how
the character deals with others. If your role-playing and not roll-playing,
every player should know what his character's sexual preference is.
