Well, there IS one for SR on IRC. It's called #shadowrun, but everytime I've
been on it's been kinda, well, lame. The only time it had actual people on,
one of them had never played SR, one was in France, wondering what had come out
in the past 3 years, some J. Random Person who had been sitting there for 4+
days (never did get a word out of him, either) and little ole me. Maybe if
some of us were to regularly go there, it would be more interesting, but I
shudder to think about the possibilities of the signal-noise ratio. *shudder*

(not-so-personal-note-to-Hayden: that was cool. I just hit "reply", and it
says that it's replying to the list! In the words of a friend: "way groovy".
Thanks for the change, Robert.

I can usually be found on either the channels #Shadowrun, #anime!, or maybe
even #hottub or #20plus. Just look for Kumquat. Sometimes though, there is an
impostor using my name, so do a /whois on me and its really me if the realname
comes up as "CYBERSPAM".

which is REALLY lagged for me, since I think it's somewhere in

It depends what web browser you use.
If you go to the File menu (on most) there's one option for opening URLs and
another for opening Files.

Just open the file with that. That should work.....

Just checked. Lynx will accept URLs or filenames.
Type
lynx <filename>
or if you're already in lynx press g (for goto) and then enter the
filename....

Failing that, you can get the filename like so:

file://localhost/<absolute path HERE!!!>

Just watch out for that absolute path bit... for unix, it's fine. For
DOS, I don't know. For Macs, with a different divider (they use ':', in
case you were wondering), it wouldn't, but then, there's not exactly much
call for a tty-based browser for Macs, is there?

A htm? What exactly did you download, it should be an execuable zip (.exe
ending) .
htm files are hypertext (Web pages). What are you using for Web Browsing?
NEtscape? If it's netscape just click the link, and when you save make sure
it's an .exe file. I've double checked and the page is okay. When you save
the file( if it asks for a directory and such, make sure the name is
mirc40.exe Okay?
Then just run it from a temp directory and read the FAQ it's very helpful.

In my experience lynx will only read files with the extension .html. So
just change the name of the file to filename.html with the command mv
[filename.htm] [filename.html]. Then you should be able to do a lynx
[filename.html] and be able to read it.

That is, if your using UNIX. And, it's not an executible file.

Hi!
Mike here again. I'm past that .htm thing... I just changed the file into
an exe, and it just unzipped itself with a click of the button. Now I
have a question:

If I run Twinsock, and when given the prompt, type tshost, which will
allow me to run the program, will the mIRC 4.0 run?

Need youe answers, people.

There is a #shadowrun channel on Undernet, which a good deal of the list

How can I change the port number and stuff for mIRC?
it keeps giving me the following:
Closing Link: Raije[ts74.pcug.org.au] by auckland.nz.undernet.org (K-lined)
and suggests I change the port number or something like that..

Hate to tell ya, but if you are klined, there's a good chance it won't
matter what server or port you try, you won't be able to connect. (Servers
can be selected byhitting the second or third button from the left on your
mirc pretty piccys menu. ;)

If it wasn't you, it means someone from your ISP was a very naughty person
and got themselves forcibly removed from Undernet.

K-line is server specific. G-lines are global and are the real bad ones,
but they're all temporary anyways..

Tell that to my IP when I was Klined a couple months back. Not a one server
could I get on. (It was a Kline, not a Gline, I checked the listings )

As a way to get around it change your authentication for identd make it
something diff. If that fizes it your id was indeed k-lined and someone was
