Hi again. Does anyone out there know if there will be
updates (in English) of the following: London (British
Isles) Sourcebook? Tír na nOg Sourcebook? Germany
Sourcebook? Aztlan Sourcebook? Cyber Pirates
Sourcebook?

And there NEED to be Sourcebooks covering Japan and
Tokyo (incl. Osaka, Chiba, Soporro, etc.), the Chinese
States and Hong Kong (incl. Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei,
etc.), Italy and Rome (including all the Holy Sites),
France and Paris, Scandinavia (including all the Holy
Sites), Greece and Athens (including all the Holy
Sites), Poland and Warsaw, Czechoslovakia and the
Balkans, the Ukraine and the Commonwealth of
Independant States, the Middle East and Israel
(including Jerusalem, Beirut, Baghdad, Tel Aviv,
Amman, Damascus, Mecca) (including all the Holy
Sites), Egypt and Cairo (including all the Holy
Sites), Turkey and Istanbul, Russia and Moscow, Spain
and Madrid, Azania (incl. Cape Town, Johannesburg, The
Zulu Nation, etc.), Central Africa, Amazonia and its
cities, Argentina and Buenos Aires, Peru, India and
its cities, SE Asia and the Philippines, Nepal and
Tibet, Singapore, South Central Asia (Iran, Pakistan,
Afghanistan). A format like the Shadows of North
America for these places would REALLY enrich the
Shadowrun Universe!

How would all these places have been evvected by the
Comet (aside from what was mentioned in YotC)? SUGRE
and the Shedim? Would any of these places have had
different expressions of paranormal animals? Different
expressions of SURGE?

Well there's the upcoming Shadows of Europe that's set to cover Wester Europe that should
help here. It's set to cover the UK, Tir Na nOg, France, Spain, Portugal, Scandinavian
Union, Italy, Austria, Poland, the UNL, a cut down English overview of Germany from the
latest German language book.

Since it's covering the whole of Western Europe it's going more for information on each of
the countries so not much chance of the in-depth city information like the dedicated
country books.

I'm fairly sure that there's a Shadows of Asia book currently in the early planning
stages. From what I've heard, it'll again be going along the lines of SoNA covering
countries more than individual cities. The exceptions being Hong Kong and Macao since they
/are/ city-states. :)

Again, see forthcoming SoE release.

Not really that like from what I've seen unless they decided to do some kind of Shadows of
Eastern Europe but not really sure how much demand there'd be for it.

During one of the Shadowrun talks at this years GenCon Rob Boyle mentioned how he'd like
to be able to do some more Shadows of/Target: books to be able to cover some of the 'blank
areas' of the Shadowrun world. SoNA styles were mentioned as likely format if they were
ever done. One of the possibilities mentioned for future work was a Shadows of the Middle
East.

There is some very bief information on several of these countries already, but not much.
In the past Libya attacked Israel with chemical weapons which led to the Israeli reponse
of nuking Libya off of the map. Egypt absorbed the Libyan land and rents it out as a
location for the Desert Wars. They've also got some strange magic and weird phenomenon
going on as detailed in YotC.

Istanbul and Turkey get brief mentions in the Merc section of the recent SONA release.
Istanbul is now an independent city-state which seems fairly secular and stable. It's also
home to one of the larger mercenary groups. Turkey itself has split apart with the more
secular Ottoman areas in the West and the Islamic/fundamentalist areas in the East and
South. The great dragong Aden, the one who flattened Tehran, also lairs on Mt. Ararat in
South-Eastern Turkey.

> Russia and Moscow,

Russia was kind of covered lightly in Target: Smugglers HAven but there wasn't any
information on any cities. Not really that likely unless they do a Shadows of Eastern
Europe since it doesn't really fit anyhwere else. :/

> Spain and Madrid,

See SoE.

Rob mentioned that Shadows of Africa and Shadows of South America were two books that were
on his wish list of books that he'd like to be able to do some time. But if they do ever
get done they'll be at least a couple of years off if not more than likely more. Survival
of the Fittest, Predator and Prey, and the original Harlequin book have some small bits of
information on Amazonia in them.

> India and its cities, SE Asia, Nepal and Tibet, South Central Asis (Iran, Pakistan,
Afghanistan).

During the GenCon talk is was joked that this ares is awkward because it's right between
areas like Asia and the Middle East so that maybe it should go in the Target: Everywhere
Else book. :) Not sure how likely this one could be since I don't know what kind of demand
for it there would be.

For SE Asia there's a real brief mention on the general areas situation in Target:
Awakened Lands. A location in Iran is covered in the deserts section of Target: Wastelands
and Survival of the Fittest has an adventure in Tehran. It doesn't really have any
location information just that it's ruined and introduces an NPC/group that's working in
the city.

In the past location books have always been thw worst sellers for Shadowrun so they
switched over to the Target/Shadows of.. books to broaden the books appeal bu having more
than one country in each book. Even so, they're going to be careful not to get burnt
again. :/

Not really sure. I think you're basically in wing it/make it up as you go along GM
territory. I'll have a think and reply when I have more time.

There might be passing mentions or short chapters in other sourcebooks
(like the California Free State was covered in Year of the Comet,
Threats 2, and Shadows of North America). But I don't think these
sourcebooks will get entirely new editions - there simply wouldn't be
any money in it...

That they would - but would they also sell?

I've heard rumors of a Europe Sourcebook, though, so perhaps there is
some hope for you...

But ultimately, there's only so much that FanPro can publish for
Shadowrun before they loose money. It's a pity, but there is nothing
we can do - apart from buying each and every SR sourcebook there is
and telling our friends to do the same, of course. ;-)
