related attribute" remarks.
Some things to consider.
Reaction as a skill related attribute for physical application of skills is
coordination based.
Strength because when it comes time to apply the force behind the skill,
this is where'd you go.
Body is used as a determiner of resisting damage as well as possibly how to
NOT be thrown about (Judo comes to mind). Now to clarify this last one a
bit, imagine if you will that the target's body is the skill applier's base
target number to be thrown (which it is in CC). Body is also an applied,
constant, degree of resistance against all outside mechanics of applied
force. Strength by comparison is the related amount of applicable force
that an individual can apply that is above and beyond what they are normally
required to do so.
All of these are nicely enough reflected in Shadowrun now, with the
exception of Reaction vs. Skills. Please note that "standard combat" (aka;
that which is not a generic brawl of direct/gross use of applied force:
which may apparently be what FASAn's decided was behind Boxing ...
regardless of how several of us felt on the matter). By learning to apply
the force better that we are capable of generating (aka; skills directing
our strength) we result in the mechanics as they almost stand now.
The rules still stand as they are, and they are applied easily enough with
the most minor of changes ... if having to make any changes at all.
