I was reading the latest issue of CGW and they mentioned that Activision
had lost the license for MechWarrior because Microsoft had bought up FASA
interactive and has plans for MW4.

Does anyone know if this will have any impact on FASA proper?

just wondering

This happened well over a year ago.

FASA Interactive was only loosely connected to FASA, in that FASA
Interactive had the rights to make computer games based on FASA products.

With the purchase of FASA Interactive, Microsoft bought those rights.

However, FASA retains full rights to it's RPG lines. Microsoft does not
have any say in the development of Shadowrun, Battletech, etc., AFAIK.
