My take on the movies...

I'll just add a couple...

Great B movie with Patrick Swayze...Steel Dawn (a little to post-apocolyptic
{sp?} but good)

Blade has a good shadowrun feel, as well as Blade II.

Escape from New York...

Running Man...

Judge Dredd (excellent illustration of what happens when cops take over)...

Surburbia (wonderful movie about rejects of society)...

This is specifically just for Shadowrun:
Reservoir Dogs - for how to write a run gone horribly wrong.
Blade - The fight scenes are pretty good, and an interesting way to handle
organized vampires without getting to V:TM
Robocop - One of the definitive Cyberpunk films
Mission: Impossible - Ethan's teams in this film would basically the
perfect mundane team of runners. Also shows how to get inside a facility
without using violence.
Max Headroom (TV Series) - How to handle a media campaign
Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels: This movie would be a great adventure
for any RPG, and a great idea for a run for some beginning runners.
