V:TM has had a strange effect on the gaming crowd. The Gothic Punk
setting is not something most people really have a grasp on. It has
definately created a P.I.B (people in black as I think Bull put it)
situation a clubs. It has also drawn "clubbies" to the game. Now the
clubbies would be giving the elitest aspect to the players (that's what
clubbing is all about anyway, not too many of us ever get over that
superiority trip). Now these P.I.B.'s don't even recognize that V:TM is
suspose to be tragedy RPG, they have just fallen in love with the imagery
of vampires and gothic elements of the games (and then the clubs). All of
this has become new toy for them and go about it with the enthusiasm of a
child.
You can either save them from their folly or call them down for what
they are. I would rather take this on a person to person basis then on a
generalization like this one (but it helps illustrate what's going on).
And yes, people can change, so somebody I gave up on last year could
finally have a clue now, and those are the ones I care to help out.
Now for some general RANTS on P.I.B.
Gothic is a style not a color!
Bauhaus has more than one song!
Don't fucking refer to yourself as a vampire!
(or more importantly ME!)
Have other fucking interests!
Realize that other people have been doing this longer than you,
and they don't wear BLACK or live in a club!
Rant off. I could go on but I think all that would just be too specific
to just this town. (unlikely but I could hope).
