Tank Girl. :) My rigger/sam is basically Malkavian, and owes quite a lot
to the influence of Tank Girl. (Hey, where else do you find a rigger with
cyber-eyes that have black-and-white checkered irises, and a helmet with
fiary-lights strung around it?!)

And very smart shadowrunning, at that.

Good call. Although this movie loses much if not seen on the big screen.

Only other rigger movie I could think of was _Circuitry Man_. There's a
scene with the bad guy wired into a truck. It's a really awful movie. Try
to talk someone else into paying for the rental.

A great BTL/Simsense movie is _Strange Days_, out on video in just a little
while. Be warned, there's a very disturbing scene in that movie.

Also, in general, "Nemesis" is a shadowrunny-type movie. Decent premise,
DREADFUL acting. Still maybe worth a look, tho.

Not to mention the fact that, as in 99% of all movies that feature it,
cyberware is portrayed as evil to the core.

Yeah, but it's worth it just to see that guy shoot a hole throught the
floor with a SMG. Made me laugh. My character will try it someday.

Finally saw the previews for The Crow: City of Angels.

Looks to be fairly outstanding in a dark sort of way... anyone out there got
any news on this?

(knows there's a new actor, of course...)

That was pretty badly done, wasn't it? They even have a Nemesis II out, but
I haven't seen it yet. Let's face it, the audience isn't there (yet) for
movie companies to dump serious cash into making a really impressive
cyberpunk movie (though Virtuosity and Johnny Mnemonic indicate a chance of
change soon!). Best to watch shows like The Crow, Heat, or Seven and
picture them 60 years in the future <though I honestly like 'em as they are>.

Seven?!? Now THERE'S a happy movie. If you want that cold, detached
feeling for cyberpunk, its not really as optomistic as shadowrun can be.

Seven is perfect for a Shadowrun adventure. It's hideously believable and
dark as only real life can be. Besides, who ever said I was looking for the
optimistic in the game? ;)

It's only dark 'cause there doesn't appear to be a single working light
in the entire movie.
