A player of mine was wondering if SRing groups generally had names or not
(like Casey's Gang, that kind of thing). I told him that I didn't know
and would ask you guys.

Some do, some don't. My group doesn't have one - there are six gamers and
one GM playing. Five core members (Crimson Wolf, Queensryche, Bishop,
Dancing Flame, and Lynx) and three transient members (Guttersnipe, Napalm,
and 20Questions). The NPC decker has vanished, but the gamers don't realize
it yet.

Names I've seen out on different web pages include "The B-Team", "The
Forces
of Nature", and "The Mistakes".

Someone in the group decided, after one of their plans fell apart,
that they were "the B-Team", and the name stuck. I don't think
they actually call themselves that, but I use it.

Since I have a *stack* of PC's lined up to play, I gave them
a common background in a group called the "Shotgun Riders"

The current gaming group though spends 15mins real time deciding
who will sleep, and who will stand guard. Choosing a name for
the team is way beyond their decision making and co-operation
skills.

My group was going to call itself "GTM Squared" because they had the
following members: Gemini, Gabriella, Trey, Tee Hee, Mask, and Max.
Characters came and went and certain characters changed their handles, but
later on it would have still worked with: Gypsy, Gaby, Torment, Tee Hee,
Morgan, and Max.
At this point it's now Gypsy, Trey, Tee Hee, Morgan, and Blitzkrieg.
No ideas on a new name yet... :-)

Ours doesn't, it's just Richie, Steve, and Maya the shadowrunners :)

My group dosn't have a name, makes then harder the trace. They also use
a public phone tended by a spirit on remote service as a contact point
and will never meet with a fixer in person (they use a spirit with
illusion spells grounded through it for all negotiations). My goups...

Pysad-fills about the same roll as a street sams in most groups

Sorcery adept - entrance specialist (cat burgeler)

RIP Sorcery adept and decker - got a little to close to a fire fight

Cybershaman - replaced the decker

Rigger - only 'normal' member of the group. Inspired by strange days

The twins (brother and sister, elfs, both cha 8)

Magician - the source of most of the spirits my group uses
Owl Shaman - since he brothers allergic to sunlight a lot of my groups
daylight opps run into problems.

An average run for my group nets 1M Y and involves such things as
extracting a high ranking corporate VP an his family of four from Ranraku
North Americas corporate HQ and getting him to a Fuchi safe house befor
Ranraku notices they're gone and activates the area cortex bomb in his
wifes head. The group split into two teams, the first faked a well
scripted unfriendly extraction of the kids that was purposfully aloud to
be detected at the last minute (the kids still made it out). The VP and
wife where attending a formal dinner at town hall (with a small army of
security personal). The corp sends in a battle copter to pick up there
exec. Our decker makes sure it get hung up in air traffic. About this
time a force 15 fire elemental walks up to the corp security mage and
calmly requests Mr. VP. The mage panics and tells the copter pilot to
hurry the hell up. Unfortunatly a jamming spell keeps his signal from
reaching the copter, how ever my group broadcasts the reply "damn the
traffic I'll be their in under a minute. A copter vehicle masked to look
like theirs lands takes on passangers and while the mages are still
occupied with the elemental a combat drone takes a few shot that miss.
Of course the copter dose what it's suppose in such situations and takes
off with the VIP on board. My group gasses the cabin and heads for fuchi
all the while feeding false signals to both the ground forces and copter
(who's getting tired of dodgin 747's about now). By the time there
copter arrives all the other VIP's have there security forces swarming as
well. By the time they get is straightened out my groups droped Mr VP at
fuchi and is heading for a little plastic surgery and a trip to Carribian.
That is one of the three runs that my group has done that havn't been in
an out in under three minutes. Enough magic and the formally impossible
starts to look probable.

Stephen

@ My group dosn't have a name, makes then harder the trace.

Our group also doesn't have a name. And as for contacting us, you
either know how to contact us or you don't. As far as most persons
are concerned, our characters are based in London. The method
included getting a very good decker to permently link a line between
Seattle and London. This line is close to untraceable. When ever
someone contacts us through this line, my characters 'old' deck
initiates a second line linking into the public traffic network in
London, dumping back the info on how busy it is and all that, from
this it selects the appropriate amount of background noise to include
in the transmission.

Our group includes

Warlock - Street Sam / Negotiated (Biowared, very little cyberware)
Puma - Street Sam / Communications Expert
Limpit - Street Sam / Decker / Demolitions
Turncoat- Cyote Shaman
Phoenix - Hermatic Mage / Arsonist Extrodinare
