Hello,

I GMed One Stage Before saturday night and I got two big problems:

1. Biggest Problem: Player motivation
They hated this pushing around thing. One player asked me afterwards
if there was a chance, where they were able to make a move by themself
and thinking of it, I had to admid (only secretly and not to him) that
he was right. The Player didn't have any options to change the story
up to this point (I should say, we're not finished yet. In this moment
they just survived the trap at the docks). Everything was very linear
with no chance of sidestepping.

I would like to hear from other GM who played this module. Was it like
that?

2. Second Problem: Good Deckers
The player I mentioned above is playing a very good decker. Right from
the start he said: "Let check out our Mr. Johnson". So, he get the
LTG Number from Highstar and decked the system, even before they went
to Allenby to see him. I panicked a bit and fought him of by making the
system TOUGH!!!. He burned his whole karma pool by decking and came to
the DS where Mr. Johnson home address was stored. I activated Himen and
his two Ice Constructs and barely fought him of (he was already searching
for interesting data). It was sooo close.

Again, I would like to hear other experiences.

Thanx a lot for your time
bye,
Stefan

I agree. I tried to run 1StageB4 with an experienced playing group. It
does not, in any way, account for player efficiency. I ended up
panicking when the group split up and tackled each scene separately.

As for FASA modules in general, I don't like them because:

1. They're expensive.
2. They're dumb.
3. They're linear in the extreme.

They are good, however, just to get characters and scenes from.

Hear hear! Or is it here here? Or is it hear here? Reminds me a
genetics class...

I have one BIG complaint about Fasa products (modules)-- they usually
have a "critical point", or an area where you need to be somewhere or
find an "improtant clue" using a perception check. One module we were
playing (That stupid rocker disappears one) and we were supposed (by
module) to go to this Johnson's office. Instead, we ambush her at her
home and drill her for information. Well, all the info is at the office
and we're screwed. End of run. Sigh.
