Oh lord... would I love to see A) how many people they interviewed (4?
5?), B) who their demographic sample was (Toronto? :) , and C) the
questions they asked (Do you agree that it would be remotely possible that
perhaps someday in the near future there may be some sort of political
amalgamation between the neighbouring states of the U.S. and Canada?).

The National Post is always going on about the imminent merging of the
North American currencies and Canada as a 51st state (in fact, other media
loves this 'story' too, it's guaranteed to get readers). It's crap :) I'm
wondering which Tom Arnold wrote this... the comedian, maybe?

According to the reports available from EKOS's web site
(http://www.ekos.ca/), from 204 to 211, depending on the question.

Good question... I've heard from friends at each end of Canada that
viewpoints do differ between the coasts, for instance - the Maritime
Provinces would be a lot more likely, especially if Quebec finally
seceeded (a matter of geography).

Indeed. The questions were:
1. Over the next 10 years, how likely is it that Canada will
become part of an overall North American Union?
43% said a high likelihood.
2. Over the next 20 years, how likely is it that Canada will
become part of an overall North American Union?
53% said a high likelihood.
3. Over the next 10 years, how likely is it that Canada will
become part of the United States?
17% said a high likelihood.
4. Over the next 20 years, how likely is it that Canada will
become part of the United States?
21% said a high likelihood.

Yours,

-Allen
