Anybody heard anything about this?

http://www.lrgames.com

The press release is on the front page. They claim there's
more info on FASA's site, but I don't see it anywhere.

It's legit. The bought the rights to publish Earthdawn. If FASA's website
isn't up to date, well...

it looks like they only have acquired a license to publish supplements.
doesn't look like they actually bought the game. which is cool as it means
fasa will still prolly get royalties and they still own the rights to the
game itself.

Cool. Of course, this probably means the end of the crossover links between
Earthdawn and Shadowrun.

There was always more on the SR end of things, anyway. I always
felt the links in ED were more of a foreshadowing, anyway...

This is good for two reasons...

ED isn't hampered anymore by trying to figure out what happened to XX is
they put XX into the game (If for no other reason than for continuity and
logic reasons for the overall backstory... Which all things considered,
had to stretch a LOT in the first place).

And SR isn;t hampered by having to worry about it either... The fact that
there's a 4th world and that there are IE and all that shit still exist...
BUT... It gives both games a much freer hand now... Or at least, it
should :]

I agree with this completely. I have never had the opportunity to collect
the Earthdawn game, although that may change with the news. The fact that
there was a fourth world, or at least an age of magic before this one, has
been a truth in Shadowrun since the beginning (as far as I know). I don't
care if I have a game that lets me play in that world, I just like to see a
little bleeding over into the game we are playing now.

Thanks,

I'd assume new stuff only... Doesn;t look like they have the money to pay
new writers for stuff, let alone pay old authors for stuff already written :]

I talk to the Editor in Chief of the project on occasion. As far as he
says, he got the go-ahead to start publishing stuff.
