I believe that some time ago, someone posted that some chapters that were
cut from RA:S are available on the web; at www.shadowland.org if I'm not
mistaken, but as I can't find the post that mentioned the URL (I'm _sure_
I saved it...) and that @*&#*%&#^ new user/login thingie at Shadowland is
really getting on my nerves -- why the hell does it need that anyway? and
who is using my nick to log into it? -- could someone kindly point me to a
URL where they can be downloaded WITHOUT having to create a user account
or anything stupid like that?

Try http://www.shadowland.org under the Scream Sheet heading, and yes, they
can be downloaded without having a user account, just scroll down a bit.

Try this one:

http://www.fasa.com/preview/10155/preview10155.html

Gives you links to the three chapters, but I can't remember where the
page is that shows what order or offers the Cast of Shadows.

Interesting, *I* don't have that problem with regards to using the link from
the "Resonant Section" on HHH Gurth (and yes, I did ask Dave Hyatt about
creating such).

I can't *find* that section on HHH at the moment, K. Is it part of
what's under construction?

It's on FASA's webpage ... go to the catalog, select whatever subsection
RA:S is under (Adventures/sourcebooks?) and then click on RA:S' entry and
there should be a preview link there. That should take you to the cut
chapters.

Dave Hyatt has some extra stuff that was never (AFAIK) going to be in
RA:S up at his site. Just go to www.shadowland.org and click on the
screamsheet icon instead of the others (you shouldn't need to create a
new account ... I didn't.).

Well, I pointed my browser to www.shadowland.org and perhaps it's me, but
I couldn't find anything that I could do without being logged in -- apart
from look at things like the "user guide" which is rather silly to put
_outside_ the "secure" area in the first place, I think, seeing as how it
doesn't really apply there as far as I could see...

I knew I'd have to post this one again:

Renraku Arcology: Shutdown's author, David Hyatt has links to the
"missing chapters" at:

http://www.shadowland.org/Shadowland/Private%20Campaigns/objects/page256

1.html

(the above URL has been wordwrapped, and you'll need to cut & paste it
back together.)

And the chapters can also be found at:

http://www.fasa.com/preview/10155/preview10155.html

Actually, no, you can reach it.

Tech (Science, Tech, Vehicles) ... then "Matrix" (which that image is going to
get cleaned up soon) ... then "Resonant" stuff. There is an image from the
Shadowlands site actually (with a slight modification, again after speaking
with David and since it is being used to link to there), and that image is the
link to "Screamsheet".

The chapters are found on FASA's Web site. They aren't on Shadowland.
You can go to the catalog entry for Renraku and select Preview to see
the chapters. If you're wondering where to fit the sections (in terms
of where they originally were in the book), Open Forum followed
Subversion, The Ork Underground was originally the first half of Rats in
the Walls, and I forget now where Media Reaction was going to go. :)

Shadowland's user guide is accessible from the outside because it
contains sections on troubleshooting the login and account creation
process (since some people need to tweak their Web browsers' settings to
get things working properly).

The Screamsheet site has some supplemental Renraku material, and it is
kept separate from Shadowland. You don't need a user account to view it
(the main area of SL has nothing to offer but forums for online gaming;
hence the login screen right up front). You can reach it either from
the Shadowland home page or by just going directly to
http://www.shadowland.org/screamsheet.

Hope this helps!

Yep, I downloaded them yesterday night after pointers from the list. And
now I'm bitching about all this anyway, why do FASA call them "previews"
when they're actually supplementary chapters? :)

Okay, thanks, this'll help me put them in the right places.

You may want to put some extra information at the index page, because I
have a feeling there are more people like me who don't have the luxury of
unlimited, free internet access and thus want to be able to see where they
need to go quickly, rather than trying every possible link until they find
what they want...

It did.

Well, if we go by what you put on the intro page to your Renraku
Arcology: Shutdown Online Game, on Shadowland, the Spin Doctoring
chapter is supposed to go right before On The Outside Looking In,
which puts it right after where you add in the Open Forum chapter. It
does fit pretty good there, since the last section of Spin Doctoring
is a media feed that never was broadcast because the army intervened,
and On the Outside shows us how the Powers that Be in Seattle found
out that the Army would be stepping in to handle the matter.
