I got a question for a few of you people out there.
I know how to reply/extract to a message - but it only goes back to the original
person. How do the rest of you get it to go to the list?

It varies with the software you are using. Most software will respond to
the FROM: field, some others will also send to the SENDER: field.

On vax, I'm not sure of the best was to fix it. On unix, elm or pine
work nicely for giving an option to send to the sender field.

You can also CC: stuff to the list.

Simple: we cheat. We type reply (rep, re, r) and at the CC: prompt (i.e.
carbon copy), some of us type in%"shadowrn@*****.bitnet", while others have
a nice little define variable that allows us to just type "shadows". Now,
this means the person you're replying to will get 2 copies of the message,
but we can deal with that.... that's why god invented the left middle
finger.

Some people clearly have funny mailers; when I point mine at
list messages, it defaults to both the original author and the
list; no need to cc: things manually.
To make this a marginally useful message, I'll mention that I
have a nice MH shell script/etc that does replies that don't
go to the original author; ideal for replying to mailing list
mail when you just want the message to go to the mailing list.
Drop me a line if you want a copy.
