a chance to try them out, but i can't say i see a "screw" in them as the
amount of time is so high (and for some the $ cost would be
prohibitive). ("what do you mean, the time is so high? somebody could
recover as much as .4 essence/year!" "yeah, and all his old enemies --
the ones who still have their chrome -- will find him a nice target every
day for those twelve months!")
some "home rules" for essence recovery:
conditions: all essence using cyberware and bioware must be removed from
the body. there can be _none_ in the system. lifestyle of "medium" or better
required.
methods of recovery:
no therapy: 0 nuyen / mo., regenerate 0.1 essence per 12 mo.
drug therapy: 500 nuyen / mo., regenerate 0.1 essence per 6 mo.
counseling: 600 nuyen / mo., regenerate 0.1 essence per 4 mo.
both: 1000 nuyen / mo., regenerate 0.1 essence per 3 mo.
the full time period must elapse, regeneration is not pro-rated.
i also noted, in an official text somewhere, that if cyberware is removed
from the body, the essence is not recovered, but there is an "essence buffer"
created to offset the installation of new cyberware. i'll have to find the
page and book. it may be the SSC, alpha-/beta- ware section; i'll have to look.
