set. The way I see it is that unless there is something that makes a new
locale significantly different then what's the big deal. Anything a
travelogue can give you doesn't need to be printed in a sourcebook (which
normally turns out to be the bulk of the information). Aztlan was a good
example of creating a place that had it's own environment in the 6th
world. It could have used more materials in it on HOW to use the
sourcebook in your campaign though. Amazonia is another place that works
in it's own unique way in Shadowrun.
Of course one could point out that Shadowrun is very city centered.
Why would a team venture forth into a new place when they do most of
their work in one town (Seattle for a lot of Shadowrunners). Shadowrun
could benefit a lot more if a more world scope was applied to
Shadowrunning itself. Why would a Seattle runner care what happens in
Boston? Until the runners are brought to the different towns by way of
runs then location sourcebook sales will continue to suck. Maybe this
focus could change with the third edition.
