I realize that reading tealeaves might be more productive, but I was
looking at the New Releases list on the FASA website trying to get and
idea of what will be coming when. I noticed that the site was updated
yesterday.

For the past two weeks the schedule has listed Dragons for Earthdawn as
coming in "August '98". I wonder if that bodes well for Earthdawn - it
would be nice if they released that book.

The Schedule for Shadowrun is listed as follows:

January - New Seattle

February - First Run
Crossroads (a novel)
The Shadowrun Companion: Beyond the Shadows

March - Magic in the Shadows

I have to admit that I was suprised. Although there has been some talk
about updating Companion for SR3, I had not expected that revision to be
done so quickly. After all, if they are claiming a Feb. release date, most
of the work must be done already (right?)

Well, in any case, I was glad to see a revised release schedule for the
first three months of 1999. Figuring in production delays, I now know what
I need to budget for SR expenses over the next six months. :)

This is the one I'm really looking forward to.

<chuckle> I just had a fun idea. If you own an N64 and Rush 2, the
next time a vehicle encounter occurs in Seattle fire up the N64, pick
the appropriate vehicle, change the perspective to first person, and
hand the game controller over to the rigger's player :)

(Rush 2 is a car racing game for N64. One of the tracks is Seattle.
Flat that city ain't.)

/ February - The Shadowrun Companion: Beyond the Shadows

Man, that was fast. I figured this one wouldn't be out until June.

/ March - Magic in the Shadows

Patience... patience...

There goes my raise ;)

It may not be at the rate they're going.

Isn't that the truth. Kenson had most of the MITS stuff done
before SR3 was published. And unless something radical came
from playtesting.....and once again I'd rather have MITS in Feb
and the companion in March. Sigh....then again I'm just one of
those people who has to rant at something. :)

A little ranting is o.k. - personally, my biggest fear is that teh
Comapnion won't be ready in time for a February release (no duh - they
were asking for suggestions just two weeks ago, how are they supposed to
get it finsihed and ready for the printer in the four to five weeks
necessary for a Februaruy release?) and they will delay the rest of the
production schedule so that these items will come out in the order listed.
That is, I can easily see a delay in the production of the Companion to
April or May or so (particularly if they try to incorporate some rather
extensive changes we have recommended in the last two weeks or so) and
would hate to see them put off printing MITS until after the Comapnion is
out.

SRComp has been finished, and is currently either going through artwork or is
waiting in line to begin formating for the printers.

-Herc (who remembers the day Mike M. says there was a meeting about the
slowness of updating the SRComp)
