(no need for spoilers - yet)

Just went to see "The Matrix" for a second time yesterday and I still say
WOW!. To those of you who think poorly of Keanu Reeves: I must disagree with
you. After seeing both Jonny Mnemonic and The Matrix it is my not so humle
oppinion the Keanu Reeves is MR. Cyberpunk - at least as far as movies goes.

Remember Neko from "Never trust an Elf"? Reeves has the same look and feel
(a bit taller though). Anyway he represent what I would call an archetypical
shadowrunner. The "thief-like" character who doesn't need brute force, but
instead relies on wits, cunning and stealth. Unless, of course, he has to
use force...

Man I love that movie!

Somebody asked a question about the movie, and I looked real hard.
Time for spoilers...

No, the words Shadow Running does not appear when Neo learns combat
training. The last category displayed before it gets blurry is "Drunken
boxing"

Man, I loved this movie. Screw Star Wars, this IS the movie of 1999. Keanu
has made up for his poor performace as Johnny Mnemonic. He's a good example
of a decker/PhysAd shadowrunner.

The link to shadowrun can be found at the writers, Larry and Andy Wachowski.
Rumor has it that their hobbies consist of Roleplaying Games (incl.
Shadowrun)/Computer Games/Anime/Honk Kong Cinema/John Woo Movies....kinda
like me!

Um, have you ever 'seen' people's characters? My guess is they look more
like Dolph Lundgren or Brian Bosworth. At least most of the pictures in SR
tend to support this.

Doesn't make it right; Keanu has a great look for this sort of thing, and
Brandon Lee would be another good choice if he'd survived THE CROW.

Not all characters are muscle-bound; Dancer looks a lot like Robert
Patrick, T-1000 in TERMINATOR 2, and he's definitely not built like
Lundgren or Stallone. Now, I do have an NPC who looks like Dolph from THE
PUNISHER, but the big brawny look is more often the exception in my
characters. and not the rule.

Your mileage, of course, may vary.

All bow to the brilliance that was Brandon Lee featured in The Crow.
Although he had a bit too much perfect-son-in-law going on when he did the
sensitive parts in the Crow, he was brilliant during the rest of the movie.

My main SR character is wiry, to the point of looking underfed. (He's a
merc, but the wired reflexes means he burns calories like crazy)

Not mine.

-55 year old grandmother (looks about 45), and looks like a mid-level exec
or the wife of one.
-a 35 year old German professor- imagine Col. Klink with Hidelberg scars
and dressed in tweeds
-an medium height/built japanese man, with red hair (kinda distinctive,
but noone forgets a name like Hideoshi O'Leary, so I figured "why not")
