[snip]
I'm sure everyone is very intimate with this message.
What the listserve is telling you is that the list is locked, due to too
much traffic.
When Listserve Lite is set up, it automatically sets the message per day
limit to 50. It saves any further messages, until the list owner
(mark@******.net) or his deputy, (is there one?) releases the clog. This
can be changed I believe, by the owner of the list. And if it
can't...
Until we know for certain, STOP SENDING THE TEST AND PINGS!!!
They add to the 50 per day limit. (sorry about the yelling, but with a
fifty per day limit, and half of those seem to be pings.....)
:)
(:
Now, if you want to make sure you are still subscribed, send to:
listserv@********.itribe.net
no subject
any of these commands:
confirm *(will confirm that you are still on the list)
info *(this will have the listserve send you a file
of all available commands. very helpful.)
help *(an abbreviated form of the above.)
index *(if by some tragedy, you were off line for a
bit, and didn't get any mail, sending this
will get the listserve to send you an index
of the 'digests' for the list. Warning!
The packets on a high traffic list can be
very big!)
query shadowrn *(The listserve will respond with your
current settings for the shadowrn list.)
set shadowrn nomail *(handy if you want to go away for the
weekend, without unsubbing. to get mail again,
send 'set shadowrn mail')
set shadowrn digest *(sends you one big packet of psts at
irregular intervals.
and, no signature. You'll get a mess back of Unknown command "jump"
(whatever was at the start of each line) Try 'Help'. And you will get
one (each is usually about three or four lines long) for every single
line that starts with a command not recognised by the listserve software.
*puts chalk back on the black board ledge.

I'd suggest that until then, everyone be polite and try to limit their
posts, combining into one post, if possible.

That's a question I think only Mark can answer.
