Because he wants to do the negotiating? He's probably a very good
negotiator. Elementals tend not to be... Besides, he's not being
very paranoid - he *is* coming there in astral form. If he were
truly paranoid, he'd be doing the whole thing over the phone, or
using go-betweens or something.

Because most Johnsons work for corps. If a corp is seen in a bad
light, the public will turn against them. If a corp gets caught
doing something semi-legal, it will put them in a bad light. If
a shadowrunning team gets caught, the corp has clean hands. This
is one of the main reasons why shadowrunners get hired - face it,
a corp has plenty of resources. If they just wanted expertise,
why not hire the runners permanently?

Ah, he's just covering his butt - he really isn't doing anything
very gross. High-powered, sure. That should only intrigue the
runners - besides, it's bad publicity to geek your Johnson before
he screws you. :-)
