Hoi,

One of my players has expressed interest in playing a "Zen shaman" what
ever that is. after a small amount of discussion, we concluded that this
character uses ancestor spirits ala Chinese and Japanese reverence toward
the dead. (I may be way off base here but I am counting on the collected
carps of the list to knock me back on the path of enlightenment.) Anyway, I
have no Idea of what sort of totems to offer him, the way I see it
summoning your ancestors to aid you is a long and ritual laden event that
is more suited for a hermetic. However, my player wants to be a
shaman.....HELP.
Thanks

Underworld described Chinese sorcerers as being Hermetic Magicians that
summoned Nature Spirits. SO just use Hermetic spellcasting with Shamanic
summoning. It's we the best we can do for now.

Ancient cultures believed that names held great power, personal names
more so and they were guarded very closely. To protect themselves, they
answered to another name, because if another discovered their real name,
it could be used against them.
History repeats itself.

A version of ancestor spirits are also given in Cyberpirates, in the
africa section. That might server as well.
